    As mentioned, to create filters in Instagram stories you have to make use of Spark AR Studio, digital graphics software developed by Facebook available for Windows and macOS, which allows the management, processing and modification of the imported effect. In this regard, I indicate below what are its system requirements.

    • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or macOS 10.14+.
    • CPU: Intel Core i3 2.5GHz, or AMD Bulldozer / Jaguar / Puma / Zen with SSE4.1 instruction set.
    • RAM: at least 4GB.
    • Display: 1280 × 768 pixels or higher screen resolution.
    • But by the full GPU acceleration tech: HD Graphics 4000 / Nvidia GeForce 710 / AMD Radeon HD 6450 or better video card.

    If your computer meets the above requirements, download Spark AR Studio by connecting to its official website and clicking on the button first Download Now and then Download. Then wait for the executable file to download to your computer.


    When finished, double-click on the downloaded file to launch it and begin installing the software, following the instructions I am about to give you.

    The first step to take to use Spark AR Studio it is related to the opening of a new graphic project in augmented reality, in which to import the effect created previously.

    However, please note that the Facebook software is only available in English language and it is a rather advanced tool; for this reason, the procedures to be carried out for processing and editing filters may be different, depending on the imported filter. That said, in this guide I will show you the steps to take to import a basic two-dimensional static filter, as its creation and modification is simple and within everyone's reach.



    To start, then, when the software starts, press the button Create New and then click on the entry Blank Project, to open a new empty project.

    Now, first of all, create the "base" on which to import the filter: in the main menu of the software, click on the item Add object, click on the wording Face Tracker and then click Insertion. Now select the level Face Tracker just added and right-click on it. Then, in the menu that is shown to you, press on the item Add and select the wording Plane.

    Once this is done, load the previously created filter, selecting it from your computer: press the button From computer located at the bottom of the menu Assets. After importing it, rename it by double clicking on it, to be able to find it faster.
